Charyn Canyon

A one-day trip to Charyn River canyons, including trekking, visiting six unique, exciting locations, do not leave tourists indifferent.
The season of Charyn Canyon visiting is all year round, except for days with heavy rain and winds.
The uniqueness of the Charyn landscapes is confirmed by the fact that Charyn National Park was included in the programme of natural heritage sites of UNESCO in 2018.
An abundance of interesting historical information, pleasant communication, comfortable transport, elements of hiking, lunch with a beautiful view of the Charyn River, a lot of photos will be so rich your day in Charyn canyons.

Our tour programme is really unique, during one day guests visit 6 interesting, different locations in the canyons of the Charyn River. The names of some of the visited sightseeing locations are given by GreenX team members.

The guide accompanies the guests along the route - a small trekking inside the first canyon, familiarises them with the terrain, shares information about historical and geographical facts of South-East Kazakhstan.

ITINERARY
07:30. Departure from Almaty city centre to Charyn canyons (200 km). The guide will pick up the guests from the addresses given when booking the tour.
09:15. Refuelling in Chilik village, guests can buy coffee, snacks at the refuelling station.
10:30. Arrival at the first location of the tour - "Valley of Castles" canyon. A small acquaintance with the visit centre of the Charyn canyon, sanitary stop.
Trekking inside the canyon 2.5 kilometres long, the trail inside the canyon leads the guests to the left bank of Charyn river.
11:30. Return to the canyon car park (2.5 km). At weekends there is a taxi service inside the canyon, you can go up to the stairs of the car park by NP car (included in price). Visit to the panorama overlooking "Castles Valley" from above.
13:00. Departure to the right bank of the river Charyn (15 km).
13:30. Visit to the Lunar (Moon) Canyon. Short walk, lunch snack, photo session.
14:30. Departure to "the Stone Shelf", next panoramic point (10 km).
15:15. Entering the volcanic zone of the national park we make a 20-minute stop at a spectacular site overlooking the rocky part of the canyon (the Stone Shelf).
16:00. Transfer to "Napoleon", the panoramic site (5 km). Ask your guide about the association of a part of the canyon with the great French emperor. :-)
16:30. Visit the final point of the trip - "the Austrian Spot" panoramic platform (2 km).
17:00. Departure to Almaty (220 km).
18:30. Refuelling, sanitary stop at the petrol station.
20:00. Arrival in Almaty.

Price of the trip:
80 USD for one guest if there are six guests in the car, total 480 USD (Toyota Seqouia, Toyota Land Cruiser).
90 USD for one guest if there are five guests in the car, total 450 USD (Toyota Seqouia, Toyota Land Cruiser).
100 USD for one guest if there are four guests in the car, 400 USD in total.
120 USD for one guest if there are three guests in the car, total 360 USD.
160 USD for one guest if there are two guests in the car, total 320 USD.
300 USD for one guest, individual trip.

The price includes:

• English-speaking gudie-driver service,
• transport by off-road vehicle,
• bottled water (1.5 litres),
• visiting of sights according to the programme of the trip,
• entrance tickets of Charyn National Park,
• lunch in "Tary" cafe (Craft burger with beef, caramelised onions and cherries and tea/coffee/water/ice tea),
• Round-trip national park taxi fare inside the canyon.
