The Best Tourism Villages by UNWTO 2023 award was presented at the UNWTO General Assembly in Samarkand, where Saty Village was selected as the best.
The UNWTO Best Tourism Villages by UNWTO programme was launched in 2021 to make tourism a driving force for the development and well-being of rural areas. In the 2 years of the programme's existence, more than 70 villages from 40 countries have been awarded.

Saty village is located in the national park "Kolsai kolderi" (Almaty region), where the tourist magnets are the group of lakes of the same name and Lake Kayyndy.

As of 2023, there are 90 guesthouses and 30 hotels operating in Saty. Compared to 2019, these numbers have doubled. Most of the locals are engaged in tourism business.

It is worth noting that in 2020, Saty was honoured as the best community-based tourism destination by major international travel guide Lonely Planet.
